Provincial Pepsi hoop championships

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association kicks off its provincial Pepsi championships this weekend, February 11-13, with the U11 Girls set to take place at Gould�s Elementary, while the Boys U11 will take place at St. Francis of Assisi in Outer Cove. Sixteen teams will compete this weekend in the two events. Play will commence on Friday and conclude Saturday in Outer Cove and Sunday in the Gould�s.

Over 4,000 athletes will participate in the Pepsi provincials over the next six weeks, ranging in age from 11-17 years old. The championships will feature more than 300 school teams competing for their individual age group championship in several regions of the province. Awards for all championships are provided by Browning Harvey (Pepsi), the major sponsor for minor basketball in Newfoundland and Labrador.
