NOTE TO EDITORS: 

Minister Jack Byrne to swear in council of the new Town of Trinity Bay North 

Jack Byrne, Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs, will be performing the swearing-in ceremony for the council of the newly-incorporated Town of Trinity Bay North on Monday, January 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the Town of Trinity Bay North at the town hall building in Port Union. As of January 1, the towns of Catalina, Melrose and Port Union merged to form the Town of Trinity Bay North. 

A municipal election was held on November 30, 2004, with the following individuals being elected: Darryl Johnson (at-large), Fred Russell Jr. (at-large), Brendan Peters (at-large), Pauline Stagg (at-large), Austin Duffett (Ward 1 Catalina), Neville Samson (Ward 2 Port Union) and James Mackey (Ward 3 Melrose). 

Media representatives are welcome to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
