Wednesday deadline for notice of participation in auto review sessions

Government Services Minister Dianne Whalen is encouraging anyone who wants to make a presentation at the Public Utilities Board review of auto insurance being held across the province to file their request with the board by Wednesdays deadline.

"We want the public to be involved in this process. This is the chance for individuals to bring forward their experiences and views on what they want in an auto insurance system in the future," said Minister Whalen. "As part of our comprehensive approach to reviewing insurance in this province, we directed the Public Utilities Board to hold these public sessions. It is critical people participate as these sessions will form the basis for the future direction of insurance in this province."

The Public Utilities Board will hold public sessions in St. Johns on the auto insurance component of their review from February 15 to 25. The board will use the volume of written requests to determine the locations for sessions across the province. Those sessions will be held between February 28 and March 4.

Anyone wanting to make a presentation, or have a third-party make a presentation on their behalf, must file a request with the board that identifies the name of the presenter, the subject and the time required to make the presentation.

The most recent information and studies completed for the Public Utilities Board review can be found on the boards Web site at www.pub.nl.ca
