NOTE TO EDITORS:

Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister Trevor Taylor and New Brunswick Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister David Alward will tour aquaculture facilities on the province�s south coast Monday, October 17.

The visit is part of a commitment to greater exchanges and cooperation between the two provinces in the areas of commercial fisheries and aquaculture development. The ministers will visit the cod research site operated by Memorial University�s Ocean Sciences Centre and Nature�s Sea Farms salmon sites near Pool�s Cove; fly over aquaculture sites at Belleoram, Hermitage, Macallum and St. Alban�s; and tour Nature�s Sea Farms processing plant at St. Alban�s and the salmonid hatchery at Camp Boggy.

The ministers will be available to speak with the media following the tour of the Nature�s Sea Farms processing plant at St. Alban�s.

MEDIA TOUR ITINERARY

9:00 a.m.
Meet at wharf in Pool�s Cove, depart by boat to tour cod research site and Nature�s Sea Farms salmon site. Duration: two hours.

1:30 p.m.
Meet at Nature�s Sea Farms processing plant at St. Alban�s for tour of facility. Duration: 30 minutes.

2:00 p.m.
Media availability and aquaculture funding announcement at Nature�s Sea Farms processing plant at St. Alban�s.

The tour and times are dependent on the weather.
