Ramea Cooperative Limited
granted processing licence for whelk
The application by Ramea Cooperative Limited, based in Ramea, for a
primary processing licence for whelk has been approved.
The application was made on March 1, 2005 to the Fish Processing
Licensing Board. The board approved the application and referred it to
the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture for final authorization.
The Fish Processing Licensing Board was established to provide
meaningful scrutiny of fish processing licence applications in an open
and accountable manner. Application criteria are described in detail in
Section 3.0 of the Fish Processing Licensing Policy Manual, available
online at www.gov.nl.ca/fishaq/processing.
