NLIS 3 December 15, 2005 (Executive Council) Senior executive appointments named Premier Danny Williams today announced three senior executive appointments. Joy Maddigan has been named Assistant Deputy Minister (Policy and Planning) in the Department of Health and Community Services. David Norman has been appointed Assistant Deputy Minister (Labour Relations), a new position in the Public Service Secretariat, focusing on collective bargaining and classification. Marilyn Field has been named Assistant Deputy Minister (Human Resources), Public Service Secretariat, a new position concentrating on the implementation of government�s human resource strategy. "These experienced individuals demonstrate that Newfoundlanders and Labradorians continue to be well-served by one of the most professional and innovative public service in the country. I look forward to the contributions they will make in their new roles," noted Premier Williams." David Norman Mr. Norman has a bachelor of commerce from Memorial University of Newfoundland and has completed several courses towards a masters of business administration. He has also completed several labour relations courses at Queen�s University and the University of Waterloo. Marilyn Field In 1992, Ms. Field entered government as a member of the human resource management team for the Department of Health and Community Services and continued her service until 2001 holding various positions within the same department and Treasury Board. Ms. Field has a bachelor of science (psychology) from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a masters of business administration with specialization in employment relations from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom. She has also completed the Human Resource Management Certificate Program at Queen�s University. In 2004, she was awarded a research fellowship with the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation.
