Premier Williams commends John Efford for 20 years of public service

Premier Danny Williams today commended the Honourable John Efford for 20 years of service to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada. Minister Efford announced earlier today that he will be retiring from public life.

I would like to commend Minister Efford for two decades of public service at both the federal and provincial levels, said Premier Williams. Public life is not an easy one, and Mr. Efford is to be admired for dedicating so many years to serving in a variety of capacities. I want to express to him now the appreciation of the people of his home province for the work that he has done. As he prepares for his well-deserved retirement from public service, I extend our gratitude and best to John, his wife Madonna, and their three children and two grandchildren.
