distributed at the request of the Council of Atlantic Premiers:
12th session of the
Council of Atlantic Premiers
Premier Pat Binns will host the
Council of Atlantic Premiers� meeting to be held in O�Leary, Prince
Edward Island on October 12. Premiers Danny Williams, John Hamm, and
Bernard Lord will be in attendance. The premiers will focus their
discussions on the upcoming First Ministers� Meeting on Aboriginal
Issues and follow-up on the August meeting of the Council of the
Federation. The premiers will be provided with an update on Building
on Progress, the Atlantic premiers� 2005-08 regional cooperation
action plan.
The meeting will commence at 8:30 a.m., on Wednesday, October 12 at
Rodd�s Mill River Resort in O�Leary, Prince Edward Island. A photo
opportunity will be available between 8:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. in the
Hunter/Duvar Room. A news conference will be held in the Pool Court
at 12:30 p.m. Simultaneous interpretation services will be provided
during the news conference. News releases issued from the meeting
will be distributed by each province�s communications office
following the meeting and will be accessible at
www.cap-cpma.ca.
A media working area will be located in the Egmont Room and will be
available beginning at 8:00 a.m.on Wednesday, October 12.
All media representatives, including journalists, photographers,
camera operators, and technicians, are requested to register by
submitting their name, affiliation, and contact information to the
Council of Atlantic Premiers Information Officer by October 11.
PLEASE NOTE: All registered media will be notified directly of any
changes to the meeting schedule.
