29th Annual Conference of New England Governors and
Eastern Canadian Premiers Theme: Choosing our Future

Newfoundland and Labrador will be the host of the 29th Annual Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers in St. John�s, Newfoundland and Labrador, on August 28 and 29, 2005.

Co-Chairs:

Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador
Donald L. Carcieri, Governor of Rhode Island

The Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers is an inter-regional, bi-national, trans-border organization established in 1973 in recognition of the special bond that exists between the six New England states and the five Eastern Canadian provinces. Its members are the governors and the premiers of those provinces and states. The meetings are held alternately in New England and Eastern Canada. The last meeting was held in Groton, Connecticut in 2003.

The Media Centre will be located in the Avalon/Battery Rooms, on the Lower Level of the Fairmont Newfoundland Hotel and will be opened as follows:

Sunday, August 28: 12:00 - 19:00
Monday, August 29: 8:00 - 17:00

The Media Centre will be equipped with telephones, television monitors, and a fax. photocopy services will also be available.

Accommodation:
Media representatives are responsible for their own accommodation. A block of rooms has been reserved, for $155 CAD per night, at the Delta St. John�s Hotel and Conference Centre from August 28-29, 2005, inclusive. For reservations, call 1-800-268-1133 and refer to New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers Conference, before August 1, 2005.
