(Executive Council)
The following statement was issued today by Premier
Danny Williams:
Today, Newfoundland and Labrador has lost one of the most dedicated and
passionate individuals to ever serve this province. Former Premier and
Member of Parliament Frank Moores, was a wonderful leader and esteemed
businessman who served this province tremendously. He was committed to
making Newfoundland and Labrador a better place, and we all owe him a
debt of gratitude for his significant contributions as the province's
first Progressive Conservative Premier.
He was a beloved father, grandfather, husband and friend, and on behalf
of the people of Newfoundland and Labrador, I wish to extend sincere and
heartfelt condolences to all of those whose lives he touched. He shall
forever be remembered for his trademark warm, broad smile and as a proud
Newfoundlander, who worked diligently on behalf of the people.
Flags at all provincial government buildings will be maintained at half
mast in a demonstration of respect and appreciation for former Premier
Moores.
