Premier extends best wishes to Roger Grimes

Premier Danny Williams today extended his best wishes to Roger Grimes, who has announced his resignation as Opposition Leader and MHA for Exploits.

"Mr. Grimes is to be commended for his 16 years of political life that included serving as cabinet minister for the challenging portfolios of Education and Mines and Energy before becoming Premier," said Premier Williams. "I wish him well, and on behalf of the people of the province, thank him for his time in public life."

Prior to 1989 when he was first elected as MHA, Mr. Grimes taught school for 15 years and served as president of the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers Association.
