NOTE TO EDITORS:

Media representatives are invited to the signing of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement and the signing of agreements leading toward the creation of the Torngat Mountains National Park Reserve of Canada in Labrador.

The following officials will attend: President William Andersen III of the Labrador Inuit Association; Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador; Tom Osborne, Minister of Environment and Conservation (Newfoundland and Labrador); Tom Rideout, Minister Responsible for Aboriginal Affairs (Newfoundland and Labrador); St�phane Dion, Minister of the Environment (Canada); Andy Scott, Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development (Canada). The ceremony will mark the signing of Atlantic Canada�s first modern day treaty and the agreements leading toward the creation of the Torngat Mountains National Park Reserve of Canada. Following the ceremony, a media opportunity will take place on site. A community feast and entertainment will follow.
