NOTE TO EDITORS:

Premier Danny Williams; Ed Byrne, Minister of Natural Resources; and Dean MacDonald, chairman of the Board of Directors of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro; will hold a news conference today (Monday, January 10), at 11:30 a.m. in the Media Centre, Ground Floor, East Block, Confederation Building. At this time, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro will release the Request for Expressions of Interest and Proposals for the development of the Lower Churchill hydroelectric resource.

Copies of the Request for Expressions of Interest and Proposals will be distributed to the media at 11:15 a.m.
