Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment and Conservation Minister Tom Osborne has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Grand River Snowmobile Drag Race Track and Rally Area                                  (Reg. 1216)
Proponent: Grand River Snowmobile Club Inc.

The proponent proposes a snowmobile drag racing track in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, parallel to Aspen Drive. The snowmobile race track will be approximately 4.5 hectares in area and will include a 3.2 hectare grubbed parking lot and an upgraded access road 183 metres in length. The undertaking was registered on October 3, 2005; public comments are due by November 10, 2005; and, the minister's decision is due by November 17, 2005.

The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.
