Environment and Conservation Minister Tom Osborne
has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment
of the Environmental Protection Act.
UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:
Griquet Primary Mussel Processing Plant
(Reg. 1213)
Proponent: St. Anthony Basin Resources Inc. (SABRI)
The proponent plans to establish a mussel processing facility at Griquet Harbour
in the community of St. Lunaire�Griquet on the Great Northern Peninsula. The
proposed undertaking will utilize an existing 10.2 metre by 9.9 metre building
for the installation of equipment to declump, grade and debyss mussels for
packing and shipping to customers for the fresh/live market. The undertaking was
registered on September 14, 2005; public comments are due by October 20, 2005;
and, the minister's decision is due by October 29, 2005.
The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved and to make
comments known. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public,
addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date
shown.
