Environment and Conservation Minister
Tom Osborne has announced the following event relative to Part 10
Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.
UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:
River of Ponds All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Trail
(Reg. 1177)
Proponent: Mr. Hebbert L. House
The proponent proposes to construct an all-terrain vehicle (ATV)
trail from his residence in River of Ponds to his cabin at River of
Ponds Lake near Hawke's Bay on the Great Northern Peninsula. The
trail will follow an existing transmission line in a southwest
direction for approximately 1.4 kilometres and then proceed in a
southeasterly direction for approximately 1.5 kilometres to River of
Ponds Lake. Construction will consist of upgrading an old winter
woods road and snowmobile trail. The trail will be constructed by
the owner using ATV, chainsaw and hand tools. The undertaking was
registered on February 24; public comments are due by March 31; and
the minister's decision is due by April 10.
The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved
and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are
invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister and
are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.
