Environment and Conservation Minister
Tom Osborne has announced the following event relative to Part 10
Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.
UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:
La Scie Sports and Country Club (Golf Course and Cross Country Ski
Trail)

Proponent: La Scie Recreation Commission Inc.
The proponent proposes the development of sporting facilities in La
Scie, including an oceanside 18-hole golf course and driving range
(including club house/chalet, maintenance road and building, snack
hut and parking area), an indoor swimming pool and a cross-country
ski trail. The proposed site is within the municipal boundaries of
the Town of La Scie to the north and north-east of the La Scie
stadium, extending to the coastline. The total construction period
is expected to span three to five years commencing in April 2005.
The undertaking was registered on January 27; public comments are
due by March 8; and the minister's decision is due by March 13.
The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved
and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are
invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and
are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.
