Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment and Conservation Minister Tom Osborne has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act

UNDERTAKINGS REGISTERED: 

(1) Middle Arm to Burlington (Green Bay) Snowmobile Trail                    (Reg. 1170)
Proponent: Dorset Snowmobile Association

The proponent proposes to construct and groom an eight kilometre snowmobile trail from the Town of Middle Arm to the Town of Burlington in Green Bay. The trail will be a six-metre wide national standards snowmobile trail using existing logging roads and an ungroomed local trail currently in use between the two towns. Construction is proposed to commence in the spring of 2005. The undertaking was registered on January 13, 2005; public comments are due by February 18, 2005; and, the minister's decision is due by February 27, 2005.

(2) La Scie Snowmobile Trail                         (Reg. 1171) 
Proponent: Dorset Snowmobile Association 

The proponent proposes to construct a 70 kilometre snowmobile trail to the Town of La Scie which will connect to the main snowmobile trail in the area. The trail will be a six-metre wide national standards snowmobile trail with correct placement of signs and a shelter. Construction of the trail is tentatively scheduled to begin in the spring of 2005. The project was registered on January 13, 2005; public comments are due by February 18, 2005; and, the minister's decision is due by February 27, 2005.

The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.
