NLIS 3 January 5, 2005 (Environment and Conservation) Environmental Assessment Bulletin Environment and Conservation Minister Tom Osborne has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act. UNDERTAKING REGISTERED: Crown Forest Management District 16 (Faulkner�s Pond) Amendment (Reg. 1169) Proponent: Department of Natural Resources The proponent proposes a timber harvesting amendment in District 16 at the southern end of White Bay near Faulkner�s Pond off the Sop�s Arm Highway. The amendment is requested to provide a replacement harvesting area for an existing approved area that cannot be safely harvested in the winter. The Faulkner�s Pond amendment covers a total area of 510 hectares, with a softwood volume of 45,000 cubic meters. The undertaking was registered on January 4, 2005; public comments are due by February 9, 2005; and, the minister's decision is due by February 18, 2005. The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.
