NOTE TO EDITORS: Minister to meet with Labrador School Board

On October 28 and 29, Education Minister Tom Hedderson will be in Nain, Labrador, to attend the inaugural meeting of the newly-elected Labrador School Board. Discussions will focus on the roles and duties of school board members, Aboriginal education and student achievement. The minister will also meet with teachers in the community to discuss a range of issues.

Journalists are invited to pre-arrange an interview with the minister to discuss matters relating to education in Labrador. Availabilities are as follows:

• Happy Valley-Goose Bay (location TBD): Friday 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., or Sunday 10:00 am to 12 noon
• Nain (Jens Haven School): Saturday, 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. (or by other arrangement)
