Government reaffirms commitment to maintaining tuition freeze

Youth Services and Post-Secondary Education Minister John Ottenheimer confirmed today government�s commitment to maintaining the tuition freeze at Memorial University and College of the North Atlantic for the next year.

"I am very pleased to confirm, tuition for Memorial University and College of the North Atlantic students will remain frozen for the coming academic year," said Minister Ottenheimer. "The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador recognizes our post-secondary students have a large role to play in ensuring our province has a prosperous future."

Minister Ottenheimer said, "the decision to freeze tuition, for the 2004-2005 school year, for university and public college students, is in keeping with government�s commitment, set out in the Blue Book agenda, to provide accessibility to post-secondary education for our youth."
