Road improvements announced for Harbour Main-Whitbourne

Tom Rideout, Minister of Transportation and Works, and Tom Hedderson, MHA for Harbour Main-Whitbourne today announced road improvement projects for the district to be completed in 2004-05.

"In keeping with government�s commitment to provide residents of the province with a safe and reliable transportation infrastructure, multiple road improvement projects have been announced for the district of Harbour Main-Whitbourne, valued at $600,000."said Minister Rideout.

Proposed projects for the Harbour Main-Whitbourne district include:

• upgrade and re-paving a section of English Cove Road, Marysvale;
• replacement of culverts on Route 70, at Clarke�s Beach;
• replacement of timber seawall at Clarke�s Beach;
• work on Church Road, at Harbour Main;
• improvements to a section of road in Georgetown.

MHA Tom Hedderson said: "These projects are certainly welcomed in the district and will improve the road condition for residents and visitors alike."
