Road work announced for Terra Nova District

Tom Rideout, Minister of Transportation and Works, and Paul Oram, MHA for the district of Terra Nova, today announced road work for the district valued at $400,000, under the Provincial Roads Program for 2004.

"This years program provides funding for upgrading and improving the provincial highway network including community access roads and local roads, and routine maintenance on the Trans Canada Highway," said Minister Rideout. "This is the focus in the district of Terra Nova."

Planned projects for the district include:

  • recapping a section of road in Glovertown South;
  • crushing gravel for St. Brendans;
  • resurfacing a section of the Trans Canada Highway near Glovertown.

"I certainly welcome these projects for the District of Terra Nova," said MHA Paul Oram. "They will improve the infrastructure, while at the same time making the roads safer for motorists."
