CP-Atlantic West Coast Basketball Camp

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will hold an open tryout for the west and central parts of the island for the CP-Atlantic Program at G.C. Rowe, in Corner Brook, on Sunday, November 14 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The camp is open to male and female athletes between the ages of 12-17 years of age. Athletes selected to the program will train on a regular basis on the west coast. The program will serve as a satellite to the CP-Atlantic Program that is up and running in the St. Johns and surrounding areas. A maximum 15 male and 15 female athletes will be selected to continue future training in the program.

The Centre of Performance (CP) Program is a program of Canada Basketball and is a model for players and coaches for teaching individual offensive and team fundamentals, and also presents aspects of sports science necessary to become a high level player and coach. The CP Program is the key component of Canada basketballs national player and coach identification and development strategy.

The program will be operated by coach Frank Foo of Corner Brook. Athletes are asked to register on site where a registration fee of $10.00 will be charged. Please make cheques payable to the NLBA. For additional information please feel free to contact the provincial office at (709) 576-0247.
