NOTE TO EDITORS:

Minister to officially open St. George�s Heritage Church, Brigus

Tourism, Culture and Recreation Minister Paul Shelley will be in Brigus on Friday, August 13, for the official opening of St. George�s Heritage Church, a registered heritage structure by the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador. Minister Shelley will be joined by Tom Hedderson, MHA for Harbour Main - Whitbourne; Robert Parsons, Chairperson of the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador�s Preservation Committee; John Waller, Mayor of Brigus, and Don Burrage, spokesperson for the St. George�s Heritage Committee. The official opening will take place at 11:00 a.m., St. George�s Heritage Church, Brigus. A reception will follow the ribbon cutting ceremony. Media representatives are invited to attend.

While in Brigus, Minister Shelley will take part in Steps Through Time, a walking tour of Brigus hosted by the Baccalieu Players, at 2:30 p.m. and will bring greetings at the opening ceremonies for the 17th Annual Brigus Blueberry Festival at 7:30 p.m.
