The half-time score was 30-28 in favour of Manitoba. The top scorer for Newfoundland was Sara Sturge of Mount Pearl with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Robyn Kenny of Corner Brook had 12 points and 7 rebounds. The Newfoundland Midget Boys basketball team also lost to Manitoba last night 97-55. The half-time score was 57-30 in favour of Manitoba. Top scorers for the province were Mark Noseworthy of Mount Pearl with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Andrew Daley of St. Mary's Bay contributed with 10 points and 2 rebounds. In yesterday�s action, the midget boys were beaten by Saskatchewan 72-47. The half-time score was 42-23 in favour of Saskatchewan. The top scorers were Mark Noseworthy of Mount Pearl with 12 points and 6 rebounds, while Allan Cake, also of Mount Pearl, had 10 points and 4 rebounds. Stephen Butland of St. Mary's Bay contributed 10 points and 6 rebounds. The boys finish with a record of 0 wins and 3 losses and will face New Brunswick this morning at 9:00 a.m. for 7th and 8th position. The midget girls were beaten by British Columbia yesterday by a score of 68-36. The half-time score was 34-17 in favour of B.C. The top scorer was Ariana Kavanagh of St. John's with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Dallas Costello of Avondale chipped in with 10 points and 3 rebounds. The girls finish with a record of 0 wins and 3 losses and will play for 7th or 8th place at 9:00 a.m. this morning. Their opponent has yet to be determined.
