Newfoundland gymnast wins gold at national competition

Luke Stritt, Newfoundland's only male gymnast at the 2004 Canadian Artistic Championship, captured the gold medal for his performance on parallel bars on Sunday, June 6. This makes him the first team member from Newfoundland and Labrador to ever win a gold medal at nationals.

Luke placed fourth after the first round of competition which automatically saw him advance to event finals.

Luke trains at Cygnus Gymnastic Training Centre and is coached by Karen Newman.
