Notice of time change this weekend

Jack Byrne, Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs, reminds residents of Newfoundland and Labrador that as of 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, October 31, to turn their clocks back one hour as time reverts back to Newfoundland Standard Time. This change will stay in effect until Sunday, April 3, 2005.

"I encourage residents to change their batteries in their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors on Sunday," said Minister Byrne. "Replacing batteries when the time changes is an excellent way for people to remember to do this very important task to ensure their families remain safe."
