Capital works announcement for the district of Trinity-Bay de Verde

Jack Byrne, Municipal and Provincial Affairs Minister, and Charlene Johnson, MHA for the District of Trinity-Bay de Verde, today announced projects under the Municipal Capital Works Program.

"This program is designed to help municipalities afford infrastructure which they otherwise would not be able to on their own," said Minister Byrne. "Projects range from water and sewer upgrades to fire fighting equipment to improvements for municipal buildings. The project receiving funding for this district is the completion of phase three of a Hearts Delight-Islington municipal building for $10,000."

MHA Charlene Johnson said: "This project was already underway, so it was very important for me to secure funding to complete phase three of the building. This project will be incredibly beneficial for area residents."

Minister Byrne also announced that tenders are being called for a $260,000 upgrade to the pump and chlorination building for the Dildo water system.
