New board members appointed

The board of directors of the Municipal Assessment Agency is pleased to announce the appointment of two taxpayer representatives to the agency's board of directors. "With the appointment of these two capable representatives, the board has returned to its full complement of 12 members," said Chairperson Fred Best. "I welcome the new representatives and look forward to working with them." Minister Jack Byrne announced the appointments on April 30, 2004.

New taxpayer representatives:

Mr. Raymond Bonia, Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove
Mr. Bruce Borden, Corner Brook

The Municipal Assessment Agency provides real property assessment services to 232 municipalities across the province. Its board is representative of the agency's stakeholders, with six municipal representatives, two taxpayer representatives, two provincial government representatives and a representative from each of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Municipalities and the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Municipal Administrators.
