Minister comments on new collective agreement

Labour Minister Tom Osborne today said he is pleased that a collective agreement has been reached between CUPE, Local 2099 and the Arena Management Board in Mount Pearl.

The new five-year agreement was reached on New Year�s Eve with the assistance of Yvonne Scott, a senior mediator with the Department of Labour.

Minister Osborne said his department is committed to fostering a positive labour- management climate in the province through such assistance as facilitation and mediation services.

"I wish to extend congratulations to both parties on reaching the new agreement, which will ensure labour relations stability at this workplace for the next five years," added the minister.
