NLIS 1 September 7, 2004 (Innovation, Trade and Rural Development) Delegation to attend international aerospace exhibition in Halifax A delegation representing 22 Newfoundland and Labrador companies and organizations will attend the Nova Scotia International Air Show and Aerospace Exhibition (NSIAS) on September 9-10, at the Halifax Metro Centre. The delegation is being organized by the Department of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development and the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Newfoundland and Labrador in a continuing effort to support the growth of the aerospace industry in Newfoundland and Labrador. "The aerospace and defence industry has grown substantially in this province and events such as this exhibition are central factors in that growth, "said Kathy Dunderdale, Minister of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development. "This year�s delegation is triple that of 2003 thanks to contacts companies made at this event last year." The delegation of 22 will be representing the interests of:
"The aerospace and defence sector in Newfoundland and Labrador consists of approximately 20 companies that generate over $50 million annually in corporate sales and service contracts and provide jobs to more than 600 people," said Minister Dunderdale. "This exhibition will help our companies create partnerships and allow them to bid on national and international contracts. I am pleased that the department is able to contribute to the growth of this important industry." The Nova Scotia International Air Show and Aerospace Exhibition attracts key aerospace and defence contractors worldwide and is considered one of Canada�s premiere aerospace and defence events.
