On September 10 government unveiled a new governance structure for health and community services boards to provide better co-ordination and planning for the health needs of the region. Government is progressing with the transition to four regional integrated health authorities, announcing the beginning of the CEO selection process last Friday.

The new governance model implements governments Blue Book and provincial Budget commitment to avoid unnecessary costs and create more efficient, smaller administrative structures.
