Minister pleased with outcome of crab negotiations

Trevor Taylor, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, is pleased that an agreement on the price of snow crab has been reached between the Fish, Food and Allied Workers (FFAW) and crab processors.

A team of three mediators appointed by Minister Taylor convened discussions between representatives of harvesters and processors throughout the weekend. On Monday afternoon, the mediators reported to the minister that an agreement on price and other issues in the crab fishery has been reached.

Minister Taylor is requesting that harvesters and processors work co-operatively to ensure that the season proceeds in an efficient and orderly manner.
