Mediator to convene discussions between crab harvesters and processors

Trevor Taylor, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, has appointed a mediator to convene exploratory discussions between representatives of crab harvesters and processors.

The mediator will convene meetings with the Fish, Food and Allied Workers (FFAW) and crab processors in an attempt to find a resolution to the current impasse in the crab fishery. Both the FFAW and crab processors have agreed to participate in this process. The mediator will report back to Minister Taylor on Monday, April 19.
