NOTE TO EDITORS: 9^TH Session of the Council of Atlantic Premiers

The 9^th session of the Council of Atlantic Premiers will be held on February 12, 2004 at the Glynmill Inn in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. This council session marks the first time that Premier Danny Williams will meet with the premiers of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island as a group to discuss topics which affect Atlantic Canadians.

Premier Williams will host and chair the meeting which will provide opportunities for premiers to examine issues of regional and national interest, review the current regional cooperation agenda and consider new strategic directions for Atlantic Canada.

The meeting will commence at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 12 at the Glynmill Inn, Cobb Lane in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. A photo opportunity will be available at 8:15 to 8:25 a.m. in the Grenfell A Room. A press conference will be held at 12:00 noon in the Tudor Room. Simultaneous interpretation services will be provided during the press conference. News releases issued from the meeting will be distributed by each province�s communications office following the meeting and will be accessible at www.cap-cpma.ca

The media working area will be located in the Colonial room and will be available at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2004.

All media representatives, including journalists, photographers, camera operators, and technicians, are requested to register by submitting their name, affiliation and contact information to the address below by February 10.
