Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment and Conservation Minister Tom Osborne has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Embree Salvage Yard                                     (Reg.1167)
Proponent: Mr. Glenn Nippard
 

The proponent proposes to establish a salvage yard located on Route 340 at Embree, Notre Dame Bay. The salvage yard will be primarily for, but not limited to, dismantling large trucks, trailers and other vehicles. The site will contain a small office building, garage, secure compound, and storage tanks for oil, antifreeze and fuel. The land is proposed to be cleared within three months of release from environmental assessment. The undertaking was registered on December 9, 2004; public comments are due by January 17, 2005; and, the minister's decision is due by January 23, 2005. 

The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.
