Environment and Conservation Minister Tom Osborne has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKINGS RELEASED:

Deer Lake R.V Trailer Park                                                      (Reg. 1130)

Corner Brook Fur Tannery                                                        (Reg. 1131)
Proponent: Nu Tan Inc. (Barry Group of Companies Inc.)

The minister has released the Corner Brook Fur Tannery from further environmental assessment subject to the following condition:

• A Certificate of Approval will be required from the Pollution Prevention Division under the Environmental Protection Act (EPA). A biological treatment system will be necessary to treat liquid effluent under the EPA for compliance with the Environmental Control Water and Sewage Regulations, 2003. Detailed engineering design must be submitted with plans for the treatment system.
