Environmental Assessment Bulletin

Environment Minister Tom Osborne has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING WITHDRAWN:

Stephenville Sewage Treatment Plant                                                                    (Reg.1073)
Proponent: Town of Stephenville

The proponent has withdrawn the original project and submitted a revised project as outlined in Registration No. 1116.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Stephenville Sewage Treatment Plant (Re-Registration)                                          (Reg.1116)
Proponent: Town of Stephenville

The proponent proposes to construct a sewage treatment facility in Stephenville. The development will consist of a sewage lift station, sewage treatment plant, clarifier, sludge management system, engineered wetland, outfall and associated sewage mains. Access to the site will require construction of a road off Massachusetts Drive. The undertaking was registered on January 19, 2004; public comments are due by February 26, 2004; and, the minister's decision is due on March 4, 2004.

The minister encourages all interested parties to become involved and to make comments known. Comments on submitted documents are invited from the public, addressed in writing to the minister, and are welcome prior to the deadline date shown.

Southern Head to Lewisporte Snowmobile Trail                                                     (Reg.1111)
Proponent: Little Burnt Bay and Embree Snowmobile Trail Committee
