Education minister to attend graduation ceremonies in Labrador

Education Minister John Ottenheimer is pleased to accept an invitation to attend high school graduation ceremonies in the communities of Hopedale and Makkovik this weekend.

"I am delighted to have the opportunity to join families and friends, teachers and staff, and MHA Wally Andersen in celebrating the graduation of these bright and motivated young people," said the minister. "High school graduation is their greatest scholastic achievement to date, with each now looking to the opportunities of the future.

"It is very important to celebrate our students' successes," noted the minister. "It is by recognizing and celebrating their accomplishments that they are encouraged to continue to grow and learn. These young women and men, and the entire graduation class of 2004, will determine the Newfoundland and Labrador of tomorrow."

On Friday, June 4, the minister will attend the graduation ceremonies to celebrate four graduates from Amon Comenius Memorial in Hopedale and on Saturday, June 5, will attend graduation ceremonies for five graduates at J.C. Erhardt Memorial in Makkovik.
