NLIS 4 May 7, 2003 (Youth Services and Post-Secondary Education) Minister hosts awards ceremony for Girl Guides of Canada Youth Services and Post-Secondary Education Minister Anna Thistle wishes to congratulate the 49 recipients of the Chief Commissioner�s Gold Award for Newfoundland and Labrador Council of the Girl Guides of Canada. Minister Thistle hosted the awards ceremony at Confederation Building on Tuesday, May 6, 2003. The Chief Commissioner�s Gold Award is the highest award that can be received by a member of the Guiding movement. "Young people are doing great things all over our province and ceremonies such as this are wonderful opportunities to recognize their contributions. Congratulations to all of these young women who are certainly role models for younger members of the Girl Guides, their peers and the movement itself." Minister Thistle was assisted at the ceremony by Judy Foote, Minister of Industry, Trade and Rural Development, Yvonne Jones, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture and Sandra Kelly, Member of the House of Assembly for Gander District.
