Road improvements in Placentia - St. Mary�s

Jim Walsh, Minister of Works, Services and Transportation, announced today this year�s plans for road improvements in the district of Placentia-St. Mary�s.

"The projects we will be completing in this area are part of our plan to upgrade local road infrastructure throughout the province," said Minister Walsh. "We have allocated a portion of this year�s $23 million provincial roads program to respond to needs in the Placentia-St. Mary�s area."

Plans for the district include:

• replacing culverts at Gull Island River and Three Gully River, Route 10, and culvert at Five Mile Waters, Route 90;
• asphalt patching repairs along Routes 90 and 100.

Minister Walsh said tenders for these projects will be called over the next couple of months.
