Provincial basketball tournaments

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will host ten Provincial Pepsi Championships this weekend, April 11-13 in various regions of the province with over 1,000 participants taking part. Gander will be the site of the West Coast Boys and Girls Midget (U15) Championships with 26 teams competing for the titles. The East Coast Midget (U15) Boys "A" will be held in Baltimore High in Ferryland, the "B" is scheduled for Laval, in Placentia, while the "C" will be hosted by St. Francis in Carbonear. The East Coast Midget (U15) Girls "A" will be hosted by St. Kevin�s of Goulds, the "B" will take place in St. Bride�s at Fatima Academy while St. John Bosco of Shea Heights will entertain the "C" event. Play is set to get under way on Friday with championships slated for Saturday evening and Sunday.
