The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

National Hoop Championships in Manitoba

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will be sending a Juvenile and Midget girls team to take part at the National Canadian Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba, July 29 to August 2.

Members of the Juvenile team include: Stephanie Foo of Corner Brook, Meghan Dalton of Harbour Main, Chelsea Kavanagh of Goulds, Erin Mullaley of Freshwater, Sarah Sullivan of Calvert, Stephanie Wakeham of Grand-Falls-Windsor, Alana Cahill of St. John�s, Amy Bailey, Paula Barker and Maegan Seaward of Deer Lake and Robyn Constantine and Laura Critch of Dunville. The head coach is Pam Constantine. The assistant coaches are Dave Constantine and Frank Foo.

 

Members of the Midget team include: Megan Healey of Jerseyside, Robyn Kenny of Corner Brook, Sheena Vickers of Witless Bay, Kate Walsh of Conception Harbour, Kerri Ward, Ariana Kavanagh and Kendelle Kavanagh of Goulds, Vanessa Stanley, Ashley Dunn and Sarah Sturge of Mount Pearl, Ashley Guzzwell and Victoria Thistle of St. John�s. The head coach is Bas Kavanagh. The assistant coaches are Mark Jones and Helen Kavanagh.

Action begins with the round robin games on Wednesday, July 30 with the championship games slated for Saturday, August 2.
