The following is being distributed at the request of Sport Newfoundland and Labrador:

National Hoop Championships in Nova Scotia

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association will be sending a Juvenile and a Midget boys team to take part at the National Canadian Championships in Nova Scotia, July 29 to August 2.

Members of the Juvenile team include: Harvey Green of Corner Brook, Blair Pittman of Fox Harbour, Steve Pittman of Bird Cove, Adam Ivany of Gander, Cory Chafe of Goulds, Randy O�Rielly of Witless Bay, Ronnie Sweeney and Mark Croft of Mount Pearl, Freddy Baker, Jamison Mercer, Matt Smith, Matthew Spurrell and Mark Woodland of St.John�s. The head coach is Scott Lynch. The assistant coaches are Dave Noseworthy and Jeff Saxby.

Members of the Midget team include: Jeremy Pynn of Grand-Falls-Windsor, Stephen Singleton of St. Joseph�s, Matthew Fox of Goulds, Nathan Johnson of Renews, Greg O�Brien of Ferryland, Jared Penney, Mark Abbott and Chad Warren of Corner Brook, Nicholas Capps, Charles Butler, Justin Evans and Fabian Picco of St. John�s. The head coach is George Power. The assistant coaches are Tony Reardon and Frank Power.

Action begins with the round robin games on Wednesday, July 30 with the championship games slated for Saturday, August 2.
