NLBA Annual General Meeting

The Newfoundland and Labrador Basketball Association (NLBA) is hosting its Annual General Meeting this weekend, June 20-21, in St. John�s at Holiday Inn. Some of the items included on the agenda are: Center for Performance-Atlantic, Minor Rules, Hall of Fame Cup, Provincial Training Center, 2004 tournament sites and dates, Raptors weekend, Reebok Sponsorship and inductees into the Hall of Fame. The association will also hold its Hall of Fame Luncheon at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday where four individuals will be inducted including:

  • Ron Tobin Athlete

  • Jim Feltham Builder

  • Charles Barker Builder

  • Peter Abbott Official

The NLBA will also recognize the recipients of this years awards, which include:

Achievement Awards

  • Scott Critch-NABO, Grand Falls-Windsor

  • Robert Pike-Cowan Heights Minor League, St. John�s

  • Male Minor Coach of the Year- John Best-St. Catherine�s Academy, St. Mary�s Bay

  • Female Minor Coach of the Year- Rosie Chidley, Baltimore School, Ferryland

  • Elite Coach of the Year- Doug Partridge-MUN Women�s Program.

Presidents Award-Presented by the president to an individual who has contributed significantly to the board over the past year.

  • Recipient-Glenn Normore

Mr. George Power, current president of the association will not be seeking re-election as president.
