Newfoundland and Labrador High School Athletic Federation holds annual general meeting and awards banquet

The High School Athletic Federation Annual General Meeting and Awards Banquet will go ahead May 22-24 at the Battery Hotel in St. John�s. Forty-five delegates from eleven regions in the province will meet to discuss the direction of high school sports for the coming school year.

Some of the major topics on the agenda will be the introduction of a Fair Play Division in basketball and volleyball, a new gender equity policy, junior high school sports and school sports week. The provincial tournaments for 2003-2004 will be awarded during the AGM as well. The Federation has undergone many changes over the past few years. To reflect these changes and the new direction of the Federation, a new name and logo will be unveiled. The positions of president and vice-president (Finance) are open for nominations for a two year term.

On Friday evening, May 23, 2003, the top student athletes, coaches and administrators will be recognized and honored at the Federation�s Annual Awards Banquet.
