Claims office of Emergency Measures Organization open tomorrow on west coast

Oliver Langdon, Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs and minister responsible for Emergency Measures wishes to advise residents, who received damages from the flood on the west coast, that the claims office of the Emergency Measures Organization, located at the Fire Commissioner�s Office, 2 Welland Drive, Deer Lake, will be open Saturday April 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Staff will be available to deal with inquiries, and receive claims related to the west coast flood. Subject to demand, the office may be open on Sunday, April 6.

Minister Langdon encourages people to document their loss. "Citizens who have incurred personal damages are advised to record their loss in detail through photographs, and video if possible, before removing the damaged items from the home. This will ensure a more expeditious process of claims submitted under the Disaster Financial Assistance Arrangements between the province and the federal government."
