The following is being distributed at the request of the Emergency Operations Centre in Badger:

At approximately 10:00 a.m. February 24 there was some ice movement in the Red Indian Falls area. Several large pans of ice moved down stream approximately 300 - 400 metres. Movement of ice was expected but the high winds may have accelerated the process. Movement is expected to continue as other ice pans may break away and move downstream. Water levels, in this area only, increased approximately 1.2 metres from yesterday. The EOC will increase monitoring further up the river.

At 10:00 a.m. the evacuation order was re-issued. Being done as a precautionary measure for safety reasons until further evaluations can be done. No residents are allowed back in town. This is being strictly enforced.

It does not appear any additional damage was done as a result of the ice movement. Work on returning municipal services, such as sewer and roads, continues.
