Tentative agreement reached between CHC Composites and Canadian Auto Workers

Minister of Labour Percy Barrett today announced that a tentative agreement, subject to ratification, has been reached in the labour dispute between CHC Composites Limited, Gander and the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW).

"The tentative deal was struck last night as a result of negotiations held between the two parties under the auspices of officials from my department;" said the minister. "I want to express my thanks and appreciation to both parties for their co-operation in bringing about this tentative agreement. My department will remain available to both sides during the term of their collective agreement to provide any assistance they require to maintain labour relations stability."

Details of the tentative agreement will not be released until both parties have formally ratified the contract which is expected to take place on October 17.
